MONSEN, RICHARD, 3. maskinist, Sandar. Født 23. august 1907 i Oslo, s. av Sigurd Monsen, f. 1886, og Anna f. Kristiansen, f. 1885. Gift 1934 i Sandar med Astrid Monsen, f. 1911 s. st. 2 barn. Middelskole, teknisk skole, maskinisteksamen i London 1940. Første krigsåret var han i den norske marine i London. Omkom da d/s Annavore ble torpedert i Atlanterhavet 21. desember 1941, 7 dagsreiser fra Gibraltar, på reise fra Huelva via Gibraltar til Oban. (Fra «Våre falne»)

I sjøforklaring til "Annavore" er han oppført som Richard Hansen.
