Publikumshenvendelse:
Etternavnet/mellomnavnet Runne ble brukt fordi Johan kom fra Brandal gnr. 40, Runne bnr. 5 i Hareid. Etter at navneloven kom i 1923, brukte de etternavnet Brandal. Sønn av Johan Brandal.
Peder var skipper på Veslekari da skuta ble skrudd ned på New Foundland i 7. april 1962, og mannskapet hadde en dramatisk marsj i fem timer for å komme til "Polarbjørn".
