Skytter nr. 773: Bratli, Paul Arnold. Født 5.6.1911 på Hitra.
Var den 9. april 1940 om bord i hvalkokeriet D/S ULYSSES og senere fra desember til juni 1942 om bord på hvalkokeriet D/S KOSMOS. Han mønstret av og meldte seg til Marinen.
Antatt i Marinen og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada. Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
D/S LIDO fra 28.8.1942 til 13.6.1943. (Om hans tjeneste om bord skriver kaptein O. Findehl bl.a.: Paul Bratli var eneste skytter om bord i D/S LIDO da denne skjøt i senk en tysk E-båt. Sjefen på en destroyer som var i nærheten kom over og gratulerte med resultatet. Dette forgikk i den engelske kanal.)
Han var videre om bord i:
M/S HØEGH SILVERLIGHT fra 2.7.1943 til 10.8.1944.
M/S DRAMMENSFJORD fra 30.8.1944 til 1.12.1945.
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen og Haakon den VIIs 70-årsmedalje.
