Trygve Byholt reiste til sjøs i 1922 med D/S TELIA av Bergen. Tilhørende D/S A/S Brødrene
Wilhelmsen.
Styrmannseksamen 1933, Skipsfører eksamen 1937 i Arendal.
Styrmann med TORA, RINGARD, TORA, TORAFIRE,EVITA. Ble fører i 1940 av D/S TORAFIRE
av Arendal, Tilh. A/S Hauges Rederi. Har senere Ført D/S TORA ELISE og D/S TORAFIRE
Begge av Arendal. Har også Ført M/S EVITA av Grimstad Tilh. A/S Uglands Rederi
Tatt som prise av Tyskerne 9.april 1940 med TORAFIRE med en last av Militærhus fra Udevalla
til Wick, ført til Hamburg,ble frigitt oktober samme år. TORAFIRE ble senket etter 80-90 treff fra
Moskitos-fly 30 mars 1945 ved Menstad. Kun èn nordmann kom til skade av besetningen.
