Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:

D/S LAGO fra 22.1.1942 til 27.3.1942.
D/S HARPEFJELL fra 12.4.1942 til 29.12.1942.
D/S HARPEFJELL fra 18.1.1843 til 12.4.1944.
M/T SOMMERSTAD fra 17.4.1944 til 31.7.1944.
T/T NORDAHL GRIEG fra 16.8.1944 til 27.1.1945.
Gjorde deretter tjeneste i land i New York.
Han reiste hjem med D/S STAVANGERFJORD den 1.11.1945 og ble dimittert fra marinen 15.12.1945.
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen og Haakon den VII`s 70 års medalje.
