BYRKNES, GEORG NORVALD, fiskar, Gulen. Fødd 9. oktober 1921 i Gulen, s. til Lyder Andreassen, f. 1882, og Sina f. Sørensen, f. 1890, båe i Gulen. Drog til England 1941 og gjorde teneste i Den norske marinen der. Sette livet til 4. januar 1941 da minesveiparen Bodø gjekk på ei mine utanfor Aberdeen etter tokt på norskekysten. Omtala saman med broren Artur i Bergens Tidende i januar 1945.
