Bosted New-South Wales, Australia, f. 11.juli 1890 i Dypvåg. Til sjøs 1905 med s.seilskip VARDEVIK (480) tilhørende J. MARCUSSEN, Askerøy. Med seilskip på midlere patent 17.8/30 måneder.
Styrmanns eksamen 1909 i Arendal og Skipsfører eksamen 1913 i Oslo.
Orlogs tjeneste 2.5.1913 til 25.10.1913.
Styrmann med barkskip AKAROA, s.s. WATERLOO, s.s. TUDDAL, s.s. THEMIS, m.s. TOURCOING og m.s. TOURAINE.

Tillegg:
Jeg forsøkte å slutte sjøen i 1926 da jeg slo meg ned i Australia, men det varte ikke lenge før jeg overtok en fører-stilling for en kort tid. Siden hadde jeg gjerne hvert år noen måneder til sjøs.
Under 2nen verdenskrig var her i Australia mangel på sjøgående marine-offiserer. Jeg meldte meg som frivillig og fikk premierløytnants rang og sendt opp i farvannet rundt New Guinea hvor japanerne stadig angrep. I 1945 ble jeg etter begjær demobilisert.
Da jeg i 1950 var 60 år drog jeg meg tilbake fra forretningslivet.
