Historikk 1. verdenskrig:
Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den 16. mars 1917, for vicekonsulatet i Cardiff, etter at DS LARS FOSTENES ble senket av en tysk ubåt den 9. mars 1917. Skipet ble senket på reise fra New York til Rotterdam med stykkgods.
