Var messegutt, fyrbøter og maskinmann på hvalfangst og i koffardi til han 23. oktober 1940 gikk inn i Den norske marine. Omkom 19. august 1941 da jageren Bath ble torpedert vest for Brest. Krigsmedaljen.
