Hadde maskinisteksamen og tjenestegjorde under krigen på d/s Chr. Michelsen som 6. september 1943 forlot Hampton Road i konvoi på vei til Bizerta. 26. september inntraff en eksplosjon, og skipet sank på mindre enn 1 minutt. Av besetningen omkom 45 mann, bare 3 ble reddet.
