Tjenstegjorde i marinen på "Kong Sverre" og" Eidsvold" 1907.
Seilte også på Larviks barken "Solstreif" i ca 1.år som Båtsmann.
Kell M. Nilssen skriver i sin bok "Strandsidere og arbeidsfolk"
Terkel Jensen var båtsmann og seilte med kystrutene "Galtesund" og "Dronningen". Da Galtesund i 1942 ble kapret og ført til England, ble han med og kom først tilbake da krigen var slutt.

Var ombord på kystruteskip D/S GALTESUND som matros da dette skipet 15. mars 1942 ble kapret av folk fra Kompani Linge og ført til Skottland. Kom til Aberdeen 17. mars 1942.

Var på DS Bjørgvin (Sank) under kollisjonen 13. oktober 1941.
