Kapret den 16/9 av tysk hjelpekrysser "PINGUIN" på reise Australia til Durban med hvetelast. Omdøpt " VESTVARD " og ført mede mannskap til Bordeaux som prise. Vel fremme i Bordeaux ble hun igjen omdøpt til "NORDVARD" 13.12.1940, Sjømannen ble internert i landsbyen Ture, men ble etter ca 3 mnd. sendt til Ebenhausen i Bayern. Løslatt og hjemsendt Oslo 3. mai 1941.
