M/T Langanger ankom til Oran 26.6.40. Beordret videre og ankom Bona, Algier 9.7.40. Skipet ble rekvirert av Vichy-myndighetene 21.6.41, og mannskapet ble internert ombord i M/S Bosphorus. Flyktet fra Algier 29.9.41, og ankom til Gibraltar 24.10.41. (jf. brev fra Direktoratet for sjømenn).
Bosatte seg i USA etter krigen.
Påmønstret JASON som 3. styrmann fra Belgia 26. desember 1947 til Bergen 23. mars 1948.

Han kom hjem med 'julebåten' STAVANGERFJORD i desember 1947. Da krigen i Europa var slutt hadde han fortsatt i 'Stillehavskrigen' i amerikansk tjeneste.
Han giftet seg etter krigen med Hansine Stalheim. De slo seg ned i New York.
