«Gift 1921 i Tromøy med Astri Andreassen, f. 1901 i Arendal. 2 barn. Styrmannsskole, telegraf skole. Seilte under krigen i alliert fart som styrmann på m/t Perides. Den 26. mars 1941 ble skipet truffet av en italiensk torpedo i Sudabukten, Kreta. Skipet fortsatte ved egen hjelp til Alexandria, men brakk i to og ble forlatt av mannskapet. Mens han oppholdt seg i Alexandria, ble han syk, og døde 27. oktober 1943 på hospital. Gravlagt i Alexandria».
