Nortrashipflåtens Skyttere 1941 til 1946:
Skytter nr. 649: Lie, Bjarne. Født 29.2.1920 i Kongsberg.
Antatt i marinen og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada.
Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
D/S hvalkokeri KOSMOS II fra 23.3.1942 til skipet ble senket 28.10.1942. Skipet hadde ombord olje, krigsmateriell og passasjerer da det ble rammet av den første torpedoen. Det britiske D/S BARRWHIN tok ombord passasjerer og endel av manskapet, mens kaptein Kihl fortsetter frivillig etter konvoien. Kl.0530 den 29.oktober 1942 rammes skipet av to porpedoer, og går ned med 24 nordmenn. Lie var blandt de som ble reddet.
Gikk deretter ombord i:
M/S TARIFA fra 24.11.1942 til 16.7.1943.
M/S MINERVA fra 27.7.1943 til 5.7.1944.
M/S TARN fra 22.7.1944 til 31.8.1945.
Kom hjem til Norge med M/S FERMOOR den 8.10.1945, og ble dimittert i Oslo den 19. mars 1946.

Sivil stilling: Matros. 42 mndr. fartstid dekk, 6 mndr. i bysse.
Militær spesialutdannelse eller kurser: Kanonskytterkurs i Camp Norway.
