Norges Skibsførere:
Erik Lindstøl gikk til sjøs med M/S "Tai Ping" i 1931.
Seilte som supercargo med skip som var chartret av Den Norske Middelhavslinje.
Ble fører av M/S "Borealis" i 1951 og har senere ført:
D/S "Basel", M/S "Bayard", M/S" Bravo"
Ble senere maritim personalsjef hos Fred Olsen & Co, en stilling han hadde frem til han gikk av for aldersgrensen.
Han har også spilt en av hovedrollene i spillefilmen Hav og Havn.
Han var en høyt respektert person både i arbeid og i andre sammenhenger. Og ikke minst i Risør Sjømannsforening, hvor han var meget aktiv etter han flyttet tilbake til Risør.
