Tok styrmannseksamen i Farsund den 29/6-1929 og
fortsatte i Gabrielsens Rederi,mellom D/S"BORGFRED"
og D/S"BRATHOLM" som matros,2.styrmann og 1.styrmann
Var ombord i D/S"BORGFRED" som 2.styrmann da den
2.verdenskrig brøt ut.
Etter Krigen gikk han ombord i D/S"MABELLA" tilhørende
Karl Bruusgaard,hvor han sto ombord i 4 år.og avsluttet
deretter ved avmønstringen sin karriere i handelsflåten.
