Var før krigen fiskar, og seinare bygningsarbeidar. Drog over Nordsjøen i ei fiskarskøyte. Gjekk inn i handelsmarinen. Var matros på d/s Balduin til han vart sjuk. Døydde 19. mai 1944 i South Shields i England. Gravlagd på Frøyen kyrkjegard.
