I desember 1941 ble han engasjert av den norske-britiske etterretningstjeneste og reiste hjem til Norge i særskilt oppdrag. Han returnerte til England den 18. februar 1942.
Den 7. mars 1942 (fremdeles) ansatt ved Nortraship som kontorist.
Til norske marinen den 3. desember 1943, han ble dimittert i september 1946.
Han tjenestegjorde i norske marinen i 1926 og har fartstid fra 26. mai 1920.
