Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
M/S CYPRIA fra 18.5.1942 til 1.12.1942.
M/S HØEGH SILVERSTAR fra 15.12.1942 til 13.7.1943.
D/S LIDO fra 20.7.1943 til 21.8.1944.
D/S HJALMAR WESSEL fra 1.9.1944 til 11.10.1945.
Overført til det Sjømilitære korps fra 24.januar 1946.
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen og Haakon den VII`s 70 års medalje.
