Se "dokumenter" for skipsførereksamen, datert 19. juni 1935. Se der også for rapport, hvor det er beskrevet følgende: I midten av november 1942 ankom BERTO til Bone i Nord-Afrika. Det var flere flyangrep på havnen, og mannskapet ombord BERTO skjøt med sine våpen mot flyene.
Brev skrevet 21. januar 1943, signert Minister of War Transport:
"Dear Captain Moe, I have now seen the reports of the sinking of your ship by enemy action, and I write to offer you and your fellow survivors my sincere sympathy in the loss of your ship. I am glad to know that you and all your officers and crew were saved."
