Var maskinassistent ombord i M/T "Aramis" da den ble senket den 17/7-1942 av tysk hjelpekrysser "MICHEL" i pos. S 05.00'W 06.00' på reise Cape Town til Trinidad.2 personer omkom. Arnt Ludvig Olsen kom i livbåten, men ble plukket opp av japnske mariestyreker og satt japansk fangeskap frem til 15.08.1945. Se historie link under.
Pr. 1.august 1943 befant sjømannen seg i Osak Camp, sailors prison. I følge journalnr. 1721/44 har sjømannen adresse Dutch Block, Room 3, Stanley Civilians Internment Camp, Hong Kong.
Frigitt i September 1945, og ankom San Francisco 15.10.1945.
Fikk ny sjøfartsbok 25.05.1946.
