Gift 1. 1923 i Kråkerøy med Gudrun Lovise Arntsen, f. 1899 i Kråkerøy. Gift 2. 1934 i Oslo med Emma Anethe Hissingby, f. 1891 i Råde. 3 barn av første ekteskap. Styrmannsskole. Var med i hele forrige krig, og var da utsatt for torpedering. Omkom på s/s Norlom 14. desember 1943 etter skipet ble bombet i senk under flyangrep på Bari, Italia.
