Arne Gunnar André gikk inn i den amerikanske hæren rett etter krigen hvor han tjenestegjorde som sersjant i 970th Counter Intelligence Corps Detatchement (CIC) til 4. mars 1947. 970th CIC jaktet blant annet på krigsforbrytere i Tyskland og stod blant annet for arrestasjonen av Mildred Elizabeth Gillars (Axis Sally) en amerikansk kvinne som jobbet for en radiostasjon under Goebbels propagandaministerium under krigen.
