Skytter nr. 1049.
Fartstid 38 måneder.
Antatt i marinen og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada.
Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter om bord i M/T VARDEFJELL fra 19.10.1942 og var om bord, da skipet brakk i to under en storm i Nord Atlanteren den 13.desember 1942. På forskipet befant det seg 10 mann. Fra akterskipet ble det gjort forsøk på å få en båt på vannet for å redde de andre, men to mann mistet livet, og man måtte gi opp. Værforholdene var dårlige. Forskipet forsvant og alle som befant seg der omkom. Akterskipet ble for egen maskin og uten navigatører tatt inn til Kirkwall.
