Fra 22/12-1927 til 4/5-29 reiste i umønstret innenriks fart
Gikk i mai 1929 om bord i damperen "Gunda" av Farsund
som jungmann og mønstret av i mai 1930 i Blyth.
Fortsatte i juni 1930 som lettmatros om bord i damperen
"Fjordheim" av Haugesund og var en tur med D/S"Borgfred"
før han atter kom tilbake som matros på D/S"Fjordheim"
som han sto ombord til mars 1933. og deretter D/S"Gunda"
som Matros til august 1933.
Tok Styrmannseksamen i 1934 og Skipsfører eksamen i
1935 ,begge i Farsund.
Oktober 1936 gikk han ombord som 2.styrmann i damperen
"Gunny" av Bergen. tilhørende Eilert Lunds Rederi og i 1937
som 1.styrmann om bord i damperen "Novasli" av Farsund.
I 1940 gikk han om bord i damperen Listo" av Kr.sand som
1.styrmann og ble opprykket til kaptein i mai 1942.Dette
skipet ble Minesprengt i Storebæltene 16/2 1943.
Etter krigen gikk han om bord som fører,først "Einarsnes,
deretter "Laksnes" og" Ekornes". Fortsatte som fører om bord
i "Mars" tilh.B.Ohlsson,Oslo og deretter M/S "Anna Presthus"
Begynte i Aabys Rederi, Oslo i slutten av 50 årene og førte
i mange år, "Spero", "Dicto" og "Cresco"alle tilhørende Aaby.
Pensjonerte seg i 1971
Gift bosatte seg i Hornbæk, Danmark. 1 barn
Død september 1991

Var på DS Listo under grunnstøtingen 14. januar 1941.
Var på DS Listo (skadet) under flyangrepet 19. januar 1942.
Var på DS Listo da skipet ble minesprengt 16. februar 1943.
