19/6-1941 til 30/7-1942 internert i fransk Marokko. Forlot fangeleiren i fransk Marokko 31/7-42 og kom seg frem til Lisboa. Her ble han etter direkte anmodning av den derværende norske ambassade påmønstret "OMEGA", som var et rumensk skip. Forlot dette skipet i Gibraltar i forståelse med britiske myndigheter 19/10-42. Kom til England ultimo november 1942, som passasjer med engelsk skip fra Gibraltar. Gikk inn i Marinen 15. januar 1943.
