Gift 1928 i Kopervik med Agnes Våland, f. 1904 i Stavanger. 4 barn.
Var fører på D/S NANDI som ble tatt av de allierte på Svalbard i august 1941 og siden gikk i fart mellom England, Island og Amerika. I februar 1943 ble han syk og kom på sykehus i Skottland. Døde der 14. juni 1943. Gravlagt i Stavanger.
