Gift 1915 i Rygge med Gunda Kristine Paulsen, f. 1893 i Rygge. Maskinistskole. Var på m/s Fernlane som ble torpedert 7. mai 1941. Ble reddet, men fikk skader under torpederingen og døde på Norwegian Hospital i Brooklyn 29. juli 1944. Gravlagt på Moss kirkegård.
