Gullik M. O. Ramberg ble skadet (beskrevet i sjøforklaring) da skipet M/T Tora Elise ble bombet, før Norge kom med i krigen. Etter han ble skadet oppholdt han seg i land. Han ble avløst som skipsfører av Sigfred Jentoft Svendsen.
Ramberg ble beskrevet som "en usedvanlig trofast og rettskaffen mann" (Nicolaysen 12.11.1941).
