Gift 1933 i Sem med Eina Hasle, f. 1913 i Tønsberg. 2 barn. Var i 1942 bøssemaker ved den norske rekruttskolen i Canada, senere korporal i den norske hær i Skottland. Omkom 11. mars 1943 på reise fra Canada til England med d/s Brant County, som ble torpedert i Atlanterhavet.
