"PRESIDENT HERRENSCHMIDT" ankom til Oran den 24.6.40 og ble tilbakeholdt av de franske myndigheter. Mannskapet flyktet fra skipet den 17.6.41 og kom til Gibraltar. Ble her ansatt i spesiell krigstjeneste den 15.7.41 til han mønstret på S/S "FORMIGNY" (Brit.) den 31.12.41. Ankom med dette skip til Glasgow, og avmønstret den 17.1.42. (Fangenskapslønn fra 16.6.41 til14.7.41)
27/1-42 ansatt i Radio Section Nortraship. 16/6-43 overført til Den Norske Marine.
