Ble 11. juni 1942, 0115 torpedert med d.s. "Guatemala" av japs ubåt 40 n.m. øst for Sydney, N.S.W. Mannskapet bestod av 40 kinesere, 1. styrmmann norsk. Alle mann ble berget, men to såret. Været var strålende. Kl 0600 observert av fly. Kl 1030 tatt opp av australsk destroyer "Jol" og alle fire livbåtene ble slept inn til Sydney.
