Tjenestegjorde sammenhengende fra høsten 1937 til sommeren 1945 som reparatør i Leith Harbour på Syd Georgia bortsett fra 3 måneder i 1941 om bord i Flytende Hvalkokeri D/S "Southern Empress".
I tillegg til dette har Braar arbeidet som reparatør i Leith Harbour i samtlige hvalfangstsesonger fra 1926 til 1954 utenom noen sesonger om bord i Flytende Hvalkokerier D/S "Southern Venturer" og D/S "Sourabaya".
