Var om bord i flytende hvalkokeri D/S KOSMOS da skipet på reise fra Walvis Bay til Curacao ble kapret av tysk raider. Mannskapet ble tatt om bord i raideren, og KOSMOS ble senket. Den 15/11 1940 ble mannskapet overført til tysk trampbåt RIO GRANDE og ankom Bordeau 20/12 1940 der mannskapet ble satt i fangeleir. Ble den 10/4 1941 overført til fangeleir i Tyskland og hjemsendt til Norge med S/S DONAU, og ankom Oslo 3/5 1941.
