Følgende skriver Drolsun selv i kravskjema for Ex gratia-utbetaling:
"I mai 41 fikk jeg anmodning fra Hrr. Gerken, daværende Formann i Oslo maskinistforening om å dra til Sverige da Kvarstadbåtene manglet maskinister. 13 mai 41 ankom jeg Strömstad, og ble den 29 07 41 påmönstret Lionel. 03 10 41 overfört til Bucaneer som 2nen maskinist. Den 31 11 41 ble jeg beordret av Nortraship i Göteborg å gå med Eric til England. Etter en uke i nordsjöen måtte Eric gjöre vendereise tilbake til Sverige grunnet storm".
Fra den 1. oktober 1944 til den 23. mai 1945, tjenestegjorde han i svensk kystartilleri på Mauritzberg. Mønstret etter krigen ut med D/S Activ.
