Gift 1907 i Ulstein med Sina Vik, f. 1881 i Ulstein. 2 barn. Styrmanns- og skipperskole. Seilte i faresonen under hele forrige krig. Var kaptein på d/s Arcturus, og omkom da båten ble minesprengt 1 . desember 1939 på vei fra London til Trondheim.
