George Browne mønstret av M/T President de Vogüe i Glasgow i 1942. Han ble senere en kjent calypsosanger og jazzmusiker i England på 1950-tallet. Han var også i Danmark og spilte inn et par EP-plater med vokalgruppen "Four Jacks", bl.a. sangen "Smørbrød Calypso".
