Gift 1923 i Bergen med Margith Camilla Simonsen, f. 1897 s. st. 2 barn.

Var maskinmester på D/S PRIMULA, og omkom 4. desember 1939 da skipet sank i Nordsjøen etter en eksplosjon, på reise fra Oslo til West Hartlepool. ( D/S PRIMULA ble torpedert av tysk ubåt U-31 (Kapitänleutnant Johannes Habekost) 4. desember 1939 ).
