Fra Våre Falne:
Etter å ha vært til sjøs fra han var 16 år, fikk han i 1940 arbeid i land p. gr. a. sykdom, men ble senere tvunget til å ta hyre som kokk på D/S BIRK. Omkom 15. februar 1942 da skipet, som lå i Kirkenes, slet fortøyningene under en storm og drev ned på et minefelt.
