Gift 1938 i Oslo med Marie-Louise Wangensteen, f. 1912. Middelskole, styrmannsog skipperskole. Var 1. styrmann på d/s Biarritz som gikk i utenriksfart. Omkom 25. januar 1940 da skipet sank etter en eksplosjon (torpedert), på vei fra Antwerpen til Oslo. (Fra «Våre falne»)
