Gift 1918 i Bergen med Magnhild Sofie Johannessen, f. 1897 i Alversund. 4 barn. Var fører på s/s Miranda som ble torpedert av tysk u-båt i Nordsjøen 20. januar 1940. Skipet var på vei til Oslo, og bare 3 av de 17 som var ombord, ble reddet.
