BAKKEBØ, LARS, matros, Fjaler. Født 15. februar 1915 i Fjaler, s. av Jens Larsen Bakkebø, f. 1882, og Anna f. Eikevik, f. 1887, begge Fjaler. Dro til sjøs 20 år gammel. På hjemtur med m/s Ronda gikk skipet inn i et minefelt utenfor Antwerpen 13. september 1939, og han omkom da skipet gikk ned. Omtalt i minneskrift om falne fra Fjaler.
