Gift 1932 i Bergen med Agathe Kathenes, f. 1902 i Tysnes. 2 barn. Styrmanns- og skippereksamen. Var fører på m/t Arne Kjøde, og omkom 12. november 1939 da skipet sank vest for Hebridene etter en eksplosjon. Omtalt i Norges Skibsførere. (Fra «Våre falne»)
