KARLAUG, ROALD TRYGVE, 1. styrmann og radiotelegrafist, Bergen. Født 19. februar 1897 i Oslo, s. av Karl August Olsen, f. i Horten, og Jenny Charlotte f. Johannessen, d. 1907 i Oslo. Gift 1928 i Oslo med Ingrid Andersen, f. 1904 i Oslo. 2 barn. Middelskole, styrmanns- og skipperskole, radiokurs. Seilte i 1939 med d/s Arcturus som 1. styrmann og radiotelegrafist. På vei fra England til Norge ble skipet torpedert (rettet fra "mine") utenfor Skottland 1. desember 1939, og han omkom. (Fra «Våre falne»)
To norske skip ved navn Arcturus ble senket under krigen. Arcturus bygget i 1910 ble senket av den tyske ubåten U31 1. desember 1939 på vei fra London til Stavanger med kull. VG
