Født 9. juli 1926 i Hadsel, s. av Ingdon Mathisen, f. 1896 i Hadsel, og Anne f. Hansen, f. 1899 i Lødingen. Tok hyre som messegutt på d/s Nordland i september 1942. Omkom 19. oktober s. å. da skipet sank i Saltenfjorden etter en eksplosjon. Det var da på vei fra Hammerfest.
