Gunnar Egge var 31 år gammel da han vitnet 24. januar 1940 i Haugesund byrett, etter DS SYDFOLD`s forlis.

Våre Falne:

Gift 1936 i Nordsjøen med lærerinne Elisabeth Hesthammer, f. 1906 i Tysvær.

Omkom 5. juli 1940 sammen med sin hustru da D/S ANNA SOFIE av Haugesund ble bombet ved Sagvåg på Stord. Gravlagt ved Tysvær kirke.
