Tjenstgjorde som matros på hurtigruteskipet D/S FINNMARKEN fra august 1940 til han gikk ombord i D/S VESTERAALEN sommeren 1941. Omkom da skipet sank etter eksplosjon på Lopphavet 17. oktober 1941.
