Var flere år til sjøs, og etter at han hadde vært på forskjellige båter, kom han til sist på D/S BARØY som gikk i kystfart. Omkom 12. september 1941 da skipet som var på vei fra Trondheim til Narvik, ble senket av torpedo på Vestfjorden.
