Var fører av D/S SAPHIR da skipet ble skutt i senk på Narvik havn 10. april 1940. Meldte seg til tjeneste og kom først hjem i slutten av juli. Overtok samme høst M/T BANCO som gikk i fart på norskekysten, og omkom sammen med 3 andre av besetningen da skipet forliste 12. november 1943. Gravlagt i Stavanger. Omtalt i Norges skipsførere 1933–1935, s. 167.
